After working with Sky Sports for three decades, the veteran sportscaster Jeff Stelling was to retire at the end of the 2021-22 season.
Jeff Stelling is a name many football fans will be familiar with as they have seen the charming commentator with encyclopedic knowledge every Saturday afternoon on the successful Sky Sports show, Soccer Saturday.
Following his retirement news in October, fans were disappointed knowing they would not see their favorite football commentator for the coming seasons.

The Hartlepool fan and veteran presenter of Soccer Saturday said in March, "Sky Sports is my home, and the Soccer Saturday team are a big part of my life."
The veteran further added that he was thrilled to continue working with Sky Sports and excited to move the show forward and create engaging content for fans every Saturday afternoon.
It's unclear in which field the veteran will embark after the end of the 2022 season.
He previously said he has always intended to continue working and was presented with many offers back in October.
So if it's not on Sky Sports, we will see the charming Jeff Stelling entertaining football fans from other football-related content.
Is Jeff Stelling Leaving Sky Sports?
Jeff had made it clear that he had no whatsoever fall out with his current employers and was happily working with them.
The commentator was full of compliments for Sky Sports and said how supportive the sports channel has been during personal turmoil.
Jonathan Licht, the managing director of Sky Sports, was thrilled about the prospect of working with Stelling for one more season and also said that the fans probably share the same feeling.
Licht further talked about the impact Stelling has had on Sky Sports and said that they could never get enough of Stelling and couldn't wait to see more of his broadcasting magic on the screens.
Who Is Jeff Stelling's Replacement?
Sky Sports had approached Mark Chapman, the BBC presenter, to replace Stelling after his initial announcement.
But it looks like Mark will continue his work on Match of the Day 2 and other varieties of live programs on BBC Radio 5 live.
Julian Warren was another person who was in line to replace Jeff Stelling.
Warren has worked for Sky Sports for 15 years and hosts Soccer Special, a midweek edition of Soccer Saturday.
On occasions when Stelling is absent, Julian takes his place.
